BIOGRAPHY

 

YIN LUM is a Singapore artist whose parents migrated from China and Malaysia.  Her interest in art began at the tender age of two when she drew her first cat.  During her childhood days, many of her art were featured in local newspapers.  In addition to winning art competitions every year, Yin was consistently ranked top in Art in all the schools she attended. 

 

After majoring in Computer Science and graduating from university, Yin worked in cosmopolitan cities around the world for many years.  The demands of corporate life and traveling forced her to stop devoting time to her first love, art.  In 2001, She enrolled at the prestigious Nanyang Academy of Fine Art (NAFA) in Singapore to rediscover the joys of art.

 

Since Yin sold her first painting in 2003, her bold and colorful style has attracted art buyers and from all over the world.  A few hundred of her artworks are now owned by satisfied clients.

 


 

YIN's FAVOURITE ART MEDIUMS

 

From the age of two, Yin's curiosity and passion in art led her to create numerous artworks in graphite pencils, color pencils, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, oil, digital photography and digital art.

 

In 2004, Yin has decided to express her art primarily in AcrylicsThe fast-drying characteristics of acrylic allows her to capture her numerous inspirations quickly.  She enjoys sculpting thick solid textures with acrylic modeling paste and acrylic mediums.  Her art is characterized by brilliant colors in bold confident brushstrokes full of energy and motion.
